Finding a distributor

Sustainable printing is important to me, and I think with the subjects I am covering I believe it is my responsibility to do the best I can. I searched for a local printer, but Switzerland is rather expensive and the ones I found were not interested in printing just a couple of books for me to look at. I searched via the internet how other self-publishing authors were functioning and I found several self-publishing suppliers that seemed to make life for a creative a lot easier.

I am currently going through LULU which is a Californian self-publishing company. What I appreciate so far is that it is straightforward to use but more importantly they print on demand locally rather than printing hundreds of copies of a book that might get stuck in one country.

So to check the quality of print and to check for discrepancies I ordered a few books to look at and get feedback from some children as well as their parents. They came within two weeks and were well-packaged. I am not sure where the books came from but it looked like from the postage it was somewhere from Switzerland.

The quality was as good as I had hoped for. I was delighted to see my project taking form and I presume they will be the same quality worldwide for consistency of distribution.

First draft print of Life Below Water, A fishy tale via www.LULU.com
